Dating in the wild
I have terrible luck with apps (I refuse to pay), so I approach women “in the wild.”
I usually do things alone: cinema, theaters shows, travel, restaurants. I was at the latter when by chance a friend walked in with a group of his friends. He sat with me for a few minutes and noticed a waitress who apparently kept looking in the direction of my table. I hadn’t noticed her glances but I did once he pointed it out. Wasting no time, I walked toward her and asked if we knew each other (it wasn’t a line, I was genuinely asking). She said “no, but I’d like to” and we exchanged numbers. Our first date is tonight. There’s so much that gets lost in apps. Stolen glances, smiles, postures, voice, smell; all of these things make a difference in how people interact. I encourage more people to go forth to try their luck “in the wild.” No one is always successful and dealing with rejection is a valuable life skill.
