Rabies is a serious disease, but we can help prevent it with simple safety steps. 🐕🐈
✔️ We can protect ourselves and our pets by avoiding contact with stray or unfamiliar animals, keeping pets supervised, and making sure they receive their rabies vaccinations.
✔️ If someone is bitten or scratched by a potentially rabid animal, immediately wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water and seek medical care as soon as possible. A healthcare professional can assess the need for rabies post-exposure treatment.
✔️ Vaccinating dogs and other pets is important because it protects them from rabies and reduces the chance of the disease spreading to people.
Stay safe, protect your pets, and always take animal bites and scratches seriously. ❤️
