How many chickens is a quarter cow worth?
I have a jersey cow that I milk and I’m raising her baby for beef. I don’t want an entire cow to eat, so I am thinking of trying to find someone who raises chickens and someone who raises pigs and see if I could trade. I feel like trading a quarter beef for a whole pig seems about right, but how many chickens would you say is equal to a quarter steer? I would prefer pastured chicken or at least chickens who have access to grass each day even if they are in a pen, and asked that they be dead and plucked, but no need for them to be cut up or anything. The steer will be grass fed with about a scoop of grain a day. what do you think?
