Chess is Better When Both Players Suck
High level chess is kind of boring because the game is a solved system. No matter what happens there is always an objectively correct move. Chess is much more enjoyable when both players kind of suck. There’s this Goldilocks zone where everyone knows the rules pretty well but can’t identify openings that is magical. The game is never truly lost when both players kind of suck and I love it.
