I have a good senior manager job at a great fortune 500. It's like 15-20 min from my house, my team/boss is great, and I've been there for 7 years so I'm close with a lot of people.
I was contacted by another good fortune 500 about the same job, but with a $40k increase in salary. I accepted the role because I felt I needed to for my family, but I've been feeling really uneasy. It's like 40-45 min away, I didn't get the best vibes during the interviews, and one of my coworkers worked with the woman in charge of my new division and said she's terrible and was fired from her last company because of how she treated people (she told me after I had accepted). I wouldn't work directly under her, but still wasn't great to hear. I'm really anxious and feeling uneasy about almost every aspect of this new gig, but I just felt if I didn't take this opportunity I would be failing my kid's future.
Anybody else been in a situation like this? I feel like it's a lot easier to get ahead by jumping from company to company, but it's really difficult if you're at a good place. #business source
