When I was a child/teenager, I never had any trouble talking to people. Socializing felt natural to me but when I turned 16 and switched to a different school something has changed.
I started having more and more difficulty socializing and over time I lost my friends. I feel like I’ve become boring, like I can only talk about very basic or general things. I’m not as enthusiastic or energetic as I used to be.
I also overthink everything I say. Before I speak i’m already worrying about whether it will sound weird or cringe. Sometimes my mind just goes completely blank and I don’t know what to say at all.
The hardest part is that I feel like I’m not the same person I used to be anymore. I really want to be the old version of myself again, but I just don’t know how.
Recently I’ve also started struggling with making eye contact with people, which is something I never had problems with before. As a kid I was diagnosed with ADHD. Since I turned 16 it feels more like ADD but I don’t even know if that’s possible.
Sometimes I wonder if it could be autism, but that’s something I never even considered when I was younger.
I honestly don’t know what’s going on with me, but I can’t seem to fix it on my own. It’s been years now and I haven’t really seen progression. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what this could be? I would really appreciate any advice. #relationships source
