Customer's basement got flooded, we're the demo crew that rips out all the drywall and isolation before our contractor goes in and puts in new material.
Customer comes down to the basement while we're working. There is a drinks bar in the middle of the basement. The foreman asks the customer if she wants the drinks bar gone, she says "yes." The foreman tears the bar down.
Apparently, insurance didn't want that bar torn down. I guess they deemed it "not damaged" and declined to authorized the bar's removal and replacement. The insurance company is the one who hired the GC, they're paying the bill, and the bar is not on their scope of work.
I'm wonder what happens in this circumstance? Does my company have to pay out of pocket for the screw up.
I'm just curious, my hands are clean of the situation. I was only on that site for one day in order to substitute for another worker, and the foreman did the work all himself so he can't share any of the blame. #industry source
