🎾 Ben Shelton beat Frances Tiafoe 4–6, 6–3, 6–3, 7–5 to reach the US Open men’s singles final, his first Grand Slam championship match.
The all-American semifinal lasted 3 hours and 16 minutes. Shelton had earlier beaten defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set quarterfinal.
Shelton will face Alexander Zverev in the final. The US Open had identified the semifinal as a chance for either Shelton or Tiafoe to become the first American man in the tournament’s singles final since Taylor Fritz in 2024.
✨ A Shelton title would make him the first American man to win the US Open singles championship since Andy Roddick in 2003. The result also follows Shelton’s 2025 Canadian Open Masters 1000 breakthrough and his 2026 tour-level titles.
