Jobs for mathematicians in industry with the current job market
I wanted to ask you what my next step could be. Specifically, it would be good for me if there are some mathematicians who managed to position themselves in the industry and who share the strategy they used to place themselves in chambas outside of teaching. At the end of this year I'm going to finish my master's degree in pure mathematics in the United States. I know the basics of programming (in C++, Python and a little C#). I have no experience, except for professional internships that lasted 7 months in which I was giving technical support (Help Desk) and where I provided a code in VBA to avoid errors in data captures.
I am genuinely open to any path (I understand that the CV still has to be adapted to the room to which you apply), I do not limit myself to having to use mathematics (I think that the career gives you more than just handling equations, but well, it does not certify you in anything and many think that you can only teach trigonometry). I have no doubt that I must improve my technical skills in programming, but what would you recommend me to do? don't I have an opportunity in other industries such as manufacturing or banking?
If you read this and you were born to answer me, thank you very much!
I have an incomplete systems engineering degree, where I saw data acquisition topics, embedd systems and digital design (VHDL). However, I do not have a portfolio or industry experience in those areas. #business source
