I’m 24 and I genuinely don’t know what’s wrong with me when it comes to working. I’ve had multiple part-time jobs in retail and food, and every single time I struggle so much to learn things. My coworkers eventually get frustrated with how long it takes me to figure stuff out, and I get so embarrassed that I end up quitting. I also have pretty severe anxiety, which I think makes it a lot worse. I’m actually confident and outgoing when I’m comfortable, but at work I become this shy, awkward idiot who second guesses everything and gets overwhelmed really easily. The weird thing is I do really well in school. I’ve even made the honor society, so I know I’m not actually stupid. I just cannot seem to get the hang of jobs. I’m working at a pizza place right now and I’m already considering quitting. I can’t get the dough down, I struggle remembering how to make the pizzas and orders, I’ve cut pizzas wrong, and I even dropped one 😭. I constantly feel like an inconvenience. I just want to stick with something long enough to build experience and actually have something on my resume. I feel like such a loser being 24 and still not having a job I can stick with. Has anyone else dealt with this? Especially with anxiety? How did you eventually find something you could actually succeed at? #business source
