Corona Borealis Galaxy Cluster
Somewhat of an unassuming photo and hardly the best I have taken, but for about an hours worth of data I am amazed that I can even see it with just a 6" Ritchey-Chretien Carbonstar considering this is the Corona Borealis galaxy cluster. This cluster is home to more than 400 galaxies with an estimated 20 - 100 trillion stars! The reason I am surprised that I can even see it; however, is because it resides 1 - 1.2 BILLION light years away! That means that when the light of those galaxies left their stars, animals had yet to come into existence on Earth. Anyway space is amazing and this hobby is mind blowing!
