suno sloppawakening i got thoughts but i do already feel defeated in them. The rise of ai artwork did not bother me that much albeit it was my profession. i never strived for realism and ofcourse you could always run my art to train a model and it would produce the exact same terrible results, i have yet to feel threatened by it.
With #music however , which was always more of a passion project I DO feel threatened. I'm a professional normie spotter and I've noticed there is NO difference to the masses of if a song is created by mankind or by robofriends. the outrage is also much smaller compared to what we witnessed during Ai art days. It's a numbing feeling from a creator standpoint. Where to go from here? Refusing to participate feels like giving up. Outing your voice does kinda get you ridiculed. It's a nice mixtape of feels and if I had any sort of spine I would likely not give-a but consider me spineless.
I do understand the need to keep the gears grinding and im not completely opposed to the idea of getting Wavyl.com filled to the brim with DMCA free content especially as a streamer, but if there's anything that could help a fellow hand-crafter out to feel like their work is appreciated what would you do? I'm not the typa beast to put a No-Ai hashtag on my tracks. Should AI tracks be labelled as such on #wavyl (automatically by AI ofcourse ) or should the challenge be to stand out from the crowd and simply not giving a frick?` #discuss !
If you wanna make music make music. If zipzopflop bibbedibop ai evergreens are rustling your jimmies youre just making a case to be replaced by big bot cock. "Anyone can be successfull and not mediocre like me" fuck you dude, lets take pride in mediocracy or strive to ascend. Everything else is just selfloathing for pitypoints. Who cares about what anyone else does or likes, create for creations sake and for your own sake. The greatest gift that the creator can give is to be able to create. Comparison is the thief of joy, yadda yadda. TL;DR: pull yourself together and force yourself to create. Others will do, regardless of your opinions.
I think with art and music the inspiration was special but the execution was mechanical. There have always been more inspired people than talented mechanics, now everyone can be a talented mechanic.
the seance and freestyle artists and musicians have always been my favorites when it comes to that. literally never picked up a pencil or instrument and then jamming to any song or drawing whatever from memory. what a rush. i'm a bit against the term mechanical especially when talking about AI, but maybe i got wrong sentience towards that word.
'prompters' have already gained the upper hand in the regard that imagination is all . and being a genius with words can suddenly get you much farther but i also feel the hobby lyricists and poets and writers that are suddenly even more angry towards their empty paper in front them than usual.
i felt he was a strong contender against the ai especially in music. maybe the time that passed since dannys latest release and how quickly everything else can get done with AI shifted his mindset. mind you im not a complete hater in that regard. im still in awe of the capabilities and possibilities it presents but i got to notice that everyone is weirdly affectionate towards ai music. youre also the typa beast that can smell a suno within a few seconds and it IS FUN as a consooomer. ill talk to my personal LLM Franceska about it.
You'll get me started. If a person didn't write the words or music then it is not something I have any interest in. I should probably say 'and' instead of 'or', but if someone created half unaided then it doesn't bother me as much as when the only thing someone wrote was a prompt...
i got the fear that it will get progressively harder to spot'em though. and without any kind of need for it to be reported as robocore their pride will rise, as will their gains. while what we really need is a rise of humility.
Why make one version of a popular song when you can make 8 billion personalized versions of that same song? I think that will be a way to spot AI music in its mature state.
I'm a huge sukka for cover songs in different styles. I fucking love Nothing Compares to You by Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies. Would I mind more Sinead O Connor in different styles? Not at all. but it feels a lot less wholesome to have it generated than seeing a cutiepie performing her first youtube cover on ukulele with it than having an ethereal version with a filled to the brim orchestra. I'd still enjoy it as a coomer but im trying to figure out what bothers me so much if it isnt spaghetti-splipping-out-of-pants human produced.
oh shit youre right. they had a huge dispute about it and then probably banged. cant hate the AKA but she obviously had more oompf to it. discussing covers is a lot more fun than discussing ai actually. lets do that more often!
