For my 40th, my wife and I did one of the hardest hikes we have done so far. 7,000ft elevation to 11,500 ft elevation over 4-5 miles , , , .
For my 40th, my wife went with me on this hike. The past few years have been tough - orthopedic surgeries, rehab for those surgeries, frustration for not being able to do a lot because of those injuries…. The past few months I have been getting back into the gym and training. It feels really good to do something like this. I may not be quite as capable as I was in my 20’s, but this isn’t too bad.
Big kudos to my wife - she trained up to do this and I’m super proud/impressed by her. She is a little beast!
This is Table Mountain - it starts in the Jebediah Smith Wilderness of Idaho and goes to the backside of the Grand Teton National Park. It’s right on the border of Idaho/Wyoming. We took Face Trail, which is a straight 4,500-5,000 ft climb over just a few miles. I forgot to wear my Garmin, so I don’t have exact data.
We even made some marmot buddies at the summit. There was a whole family of them and they came right up to us. It was an awesome experience all around. #activity #hiking source
