Fixed furnace with a $10 capacitor, HVAC wanted to put in new system. frustrating
Came back from my vacation to find my house very cold. Called HVAC company to come and fix the furnace. They said I needed a new system because my heat exchanger had cracked. Then the text sends a quote for $15k for a new heat pump.
I literally search cracked heat exchanger on YouTube and there's a video on how to do a test, nope, didn't have it cracked. Then I search for humming noise coming from blower and the answer is the top result, changed the capacitor under 5 min for $10.
Sadly, it's not the first time I bring in a company to quote me a job and they do something completely different
