So I posted here the other day asking for advice on my travel itinerary and quickly realised I was underestimating costs and spending too long in certain places.
So here is my updated plan based on advice.
Does this now sound reasonable?
And where to spend the 3 weeks remaining?
And do I still need to take time out of the back end in the expensive countries?
Accepted not staying in super fancy places, hostels okay if have a private room/shower.
Cambodia (1 week) - Bus from Bangkok (save money) - Siem Reap - Phnom Penh
Vietnam (3 weeks) - Bus from Phnom Penh - Ho Chi Minh City - Work way up country to Hanoi - Ha Long Bay
Philippines (3 weeks) - Island hopping (3 islands, top 4)
Singapore (3/4 days) - Only as we fly via there to AUS. - Stay cheap and just see the sites on foot.
Australia (3 weeks) - Fly into Darwin and trip out to Uluru - Sydney/Brisbane (Gold Coast and Bondi Beach) - Could make it 2 weeks if possible to do that. - Friends currently there and doing trusted house sitting to make it cheaper
New Zealand (4 weeks) - Camper van for 28 days (£2,500p/p for a decent size one or £1,250p/p for a big car style one) - Explore North Island. Mostly hikes.
Chile/Argentina (4 weeks) - Easter Island - Patagonia W/O trek. - Torres del Paine - Antarctica trip if on discount (separate to budget for cost)
This would leave a further 3 weeks to allocate and 1.5 weeks removed for travel time between places.
