A little felt lava lamp I made
Who else owned one of these growing up? I would stay up for hours watching mine as I fell asleep lol
I was feeling nostalgic thinking about my childhood bedroom while making ornaments this week. š§”
Materials and process: Make shape template using cardboard (an old cereal or granola bar box works great), cut out felt pieces, stitch front pieces together with thread, attach beads and sequins using sewing thread, then blanket stitch the edges of the back and front pieces together using embroidery floss. Before completing the blanket stitch, sew into place a ribbon or craft cord loop at the top for hanging and stuff the ornament with polyfil (pulled apart cotton balls from the medicine cabinet also work).
