I am planning on installing hybrid resilient flooring in a large living space that has a pellet stove on a 6” brick hearth. The stove manual says that any LVP flooring must have 29” of alternative flooring before the LVP. I was planning on laying tile down kinda as an extension of the hearth on floor level. My wife wants to get a fireproof mat to lay in front instead. I insist that it will not work and we need some kind of tile or similar alternative. Am I correct in saying that? She does not want to put any kind of buffer that will breakup the LVP so are there any other options? #home source
