This is another reason to not build unnecessary cairns…
What was once a natural open space is now a maze of man made fences.
Why?
Because every summer people decide they’re going to build a little monument to their Boulder hiking adventure. There would be several dozen built everyday, people would see them, think they’re cute and want to build their own, the more that were built the more people went off trail to gather rocks.
