9800X3D Build: Is the RTX 5080 worth a 2-month grind over the 5070 Ti / 9070 XT?
**Hey everyone, I’m 16 and I’ve been working hard to save for a high-end 1440p rig. My goal is maximum stability in competitive shooters and high performance in upcoming AAA titles.** **I’m currently looking at three PowerSpec builds from Micro Center (Westbury, NY), but I’m open to other suggestions. I can buy the first two this month, but the 5080 build would require 2 more months of work.** **The Options (Prices include 8.625% NY Tax):** **1.$1,955 Total: PowerSpec G760 (9800X3D / RX 9070 XT 16GB / 32GB DDR5-6000)** **2.$2,390 Total: PowerSpec G758 (9800X3D / RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7 / 32GB DDR5-6000) - White Build.** **3.$2,605 Total: PowerSpec G757 (9800X3D / RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 / 32GB DDR5-6000) - Requires 2 extra months of saving.** **My questions:** **• At 1440p, is the performance gap between the 5070 Ti and 5080 worth the $215+ premium and the 2-month delay?** **• Does the 5080 offer a significant jump in 1% lows for AAA games that justifies the extra grind?** **• If you know of a better prebuilt deal or a better configuration available at another retailer (Newegg, Best Buy, etc.) that features the 9800X3D, please let me know. It would be a huge help!** **I’m looking for a "no-nonsense" perspective on whether the extra work for the 5080 actually pays off for 1440p long-term. Thanks!** #technology #hardware source
