What new unique wildlife encounters is there left for me to do?
Honestly this is a glorious problem to have, but I'm literally running out of ideas. I've been lucky to have done most of the classic wildlife experiences around the world, and have a fairly long bucket list. But I'm also looking for some lesser-known wonderful experiences and ideas to add to that bucket list.
Any thoughts? Anything cool you've seen or done that isn't on the typical wildlife radar?
**What I've done so far:**
\- African safari (many, many times)
\- Galapagos (multiple times)
\- Yellowstone (multiple times)
\- Grizzlies in Alaska (Brooks Falls, Lake Clark, multiple times)
\- Antarctica
\- Madagascar
\- Jaguars, Amazon, and Pantanal in Brazil
\- Polar bears in Svalbard
\- Komodo dragons in Indonesia
\- Birds of Paradise in Papua New Guinea
\- Shoebills in Uganda
\- Gorilla trekking
\- Kangaroos, koalas, possums, quokkas, etc in Australia (multiple times)
\- Pumas in Patagonia
\- Tigers in India
\- Snorkeling all over the world, including Raja Ampat, Lake Malawi, and the Great Barrier Reef
\- Przewalski's horses in Mongolia
\- Proboscis monkeys in Brunei
\- Swam with sharks, dolphins, rays, etc.
**Bucket list:**
(A few of which are on the schedule for the next year or so)
\- African wild dogs and honey badgers (my two biggest "missing" encounters on safari)
\- King or Emperor Penguins
\- Mandrills and "surfing" elephants in Gabon
\- Swimming with whales, whale sharks, and manta rays
\- Snow monkeys in Japan
\- Manatees in Florida and/or dugongs in Africa
\- Cassowaries in Australia or PNG
\- Christmas Island crab migration
\- Meerkats in southern Africa
\- Narwhals in the Canadian arctic
\- Monarch migration in Mexico
\- South Georgia Island
\- Orangutans in Borneo
\- WILD pandas in China
\- Snow leopard expedition
