I hate my uni friends for their views and behavior but I'm too scared to end up alone without a social network in a new city
This is pretty much my first serious moral conflict, for some info without revealing too much, I'm a man and an adult under 21. I enrolled in university fairly recently and I've had a slow time acquainting myself with my classmates, but I've made steady progress.
The problem is that 3 of my "friends" have terrible world and societal views that almost always conflict with mine, I am a hard-leaning leftist based on worldwide "metrics" (not just American ones), but I understand most people aren't like this and that's totally ok with me; however, their POVs and opinons are really conflicting even for what I'd guess is a very moderate view.
For once, they like misogynistic and borderline rapey jokes, make fun of horrid cases of assault and lay the blame on the victim and constantly objectify women, which really irks me because I've grown up surrounded by women and they've rightfully taught me respect and how they really live day to day.
They're also borderline homophobic and transphobic, which also bothers me because I know multiple LGBT+ people and they're fine people.
One of them is specially egregious, he likes racist and supremacy type jokes and political figures (we are not white btw).
And among other little things, like constant mentions of porn and sex, I'm starting to genuinely dislike my "friends", but I'm too scared to be alone in a new city for me, they're all locals and frankly, I don't want to bother with making friends again from scratch, but I can't just keep associating myself with people who view the world in ways that disgust me, what should I do?? any help is appreciated and thanks for reading. #relationships source
