Nailing hardie trim battens
Putting up some batten trim. 18 and 16 gauge nails either bend, jam or don’t go all the way in. The 16 gauge nails were blunt end, tried grinding a chisel end and same problem. Behind the batten is Hardie sheet siding which seems to be a double whammy. If the nail goes through the batten it’s lost all desire to nail into the sheet. Unless a miracle happens my next plan is construction adhesive. These are short trim boards and at ground level.
