First time operating a mini skid today, how’d i do?

So just for some context Im 18 I run a landscaping business and I just picked up this gravel pad job. I’m looking for any tips on how you guys make sure that you’re at the right elevation and how do you guys keep it consistent. Also for any of you guys that do residential jobs. how do you guys go about digging near utilities? Also, any Grading tips help honestly.
