white slime in my AC drain pan.. is this zoogloea?
so I was changing my air filter and decided to check the drain pan since I never have. found this white slimy gunk coating the bottom and clogging where the drain line connects
googled it and zoogloea keeps coming up? apparently its some kind of bacteria colony that feeds on dust and moisture in ac systems. but everything I read was either super technical or trying to sell me something so idk how worried I should actually be
its definitely been there a while based on how thick it is. ac has been running fine though so maybe its not a big deal?
anyone dealt with this before? is this just normal ac grossness or should I be doing something about it. also is it actually harmful or just nasty looking
