Really random post but I just came across some videos on ig that honestly got me thinking. One of them was a quote from a saint that was basically “Where have your oracles gone? Where are the enchantments of the Egyptians? When did these things end and lose their meaning? Was it no coincidence that the cross of Christ arrived?”
Like, yeah, dude, sure, faith in “false gods” disappeared because yours is the right one—and not because your religion persecuted and forcibly converted people for centuries.
I stumbled upon a rabbit hole where people were even saying that Oliver Tree’s death was because he apparently mocked Christianity????
I honestly feel really weird seeing this kind of post. It’s so bizarre that people have these kinds of thoughts. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I’m the crazy one here—I just can’t genuinely believe that people think their religion has survived two thousand years because it’s the right one, and not because it’s been used as a weapon of oppression for centuries.
