When should you make someone you're getting to know aware of big issues about yourself?
For example if you have a drug/medication dependency; if you're unemployed; Things that someone who's looking for a closer relationship with you might 1. not expect and 2. might be a no go to them. I'm thinking why waste their time..
I mean obviously if it's just casual conversation/friendship type stuff, then nobody needs to know all that personal stuff prematurely if it doesn't affect/concern them.
But if someone is looking for a relationship type thing, they put in time & effort and seem nice. Then to me it feels like I should warn them about these big issues, so they can decide whether they want to continue or not.
But Idk if that's a good approach at all.. Maybe my perpetual shame makes me do & say stupid stuff that doesn't do any good to anyone? #relationships source
