What would you quote for designing a 14-16 page booklet ?
Hi everyone,
I’m a recent graphic design graduate and recently started working at a commercial print shop. I have an opportunity to quote the design portion of a project, and I’d love to hear what others would charge.
The project is for an all-volunteer nonprofit and consists of a **14–16 page full-color tour guide booklet**.
The client would provide:
\- All copy
\- All photos
\- Sponsor advertisements
\- Branding/logo
My responsibilities would be:
\- Designing the overall look and layout in InDesign
\- Creating the cover
\- Laying out all pages
\- Preparing the final print-ready files
I would **not** be doing any copywriting, photography, illustration, branding, or printing, just the design and layout.
I know nonprofit budgets can be limited, but I also don’t want to undervalue my work. What would you quote for the **design portion only**?
I’d appreciate hearing:
\- Your flat-rate estimate
\- Your hourly rate (if that’s how you’d price it)
\- How many hours you think a project like this would realistically take
