Rent a Coop Electric Fence volt meter says it's too high?
I have the net electric fence from Rent A Coop with the .6-joule Energizer. It says the max is 7.0 kv but the fence is reading between 9.0 and 11.0 kv. I have an 8' copper grounding rod connected to it. I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, if this is normal, or if I should be doing something different. I don't need it super high, just enough to zap the rabbits and raccoons.
