How to finish stairs
Ripped up old carpet on a set of stairs. Treads are wood and seem fine. Put down hardwood on the landing. The issue is now all the wood is unfinished. The stairs can’t be out of commission for an extended period of time. I’m also not sure how we would handle the fumes from staining with an asthmatic and an infant. Will also need to plan around cats that love chewing plastic.
Any suggestions on how to get a finish on these stairs? Can I finish 1 side at a time and cover with paper as it cures?
