To garbage dispose or not garbage dispose.
So for the past 10 or so years I've lived in homes that always had garbage disposals. From rentals to my current owned home.
However I feel like I always have issues with them? I'm not really with upkeeping random equipment. They end up pretty smelly and I constantly have things slide into them like utensils or small glasses since that rubber stopper thing with slits doesn't do much and constantly looks gross.
I'm also a big eater of like rice/pasta which I don't think is supposed to be great for disposals. I try to dump a lot of what I can out but noodles will always escape the bowl when dumping liquids and rice just sticks to the bowls as well.
We're replacing my sink soon so I'm at the part of picking out new faucets and if I want a disposal or not. But I've lived in a house for so long I'm not sure if I feel like I'll be fine without one or if I actually do benefit from having one.
I feel like I don't need one but it's been over 10 years and I really can't compare having one vs not having one. I just don't like how stinky it gets and things falling down into it.
