New Meat - Alex Lemley - A Fast Food Roguelite About Conspiracies, Cosmic Horrors, and Dead-End Jobs
New Meat is a horror-comedy roguelite inspired both by classic rogues like The Binding of Isaac as well as more story-based games like No Delivery and Undertale.
In New Meat, you take on the role of Niko, a new hire at a peculiar burger joint in the middle of the Nevada desert. Your job? Keep the freezers stocked with meat for your many hungry customers? How do you do that? Just go down to the horrible, sprawling flesh labyrinth under the building and apply your chainsaw to some cosmically-mutated abominations until they explode into tasty meat chunks. Oh, and make sure to head back before the meat takes a bite out of you.
The game's got 12 (?) endings, multiple story paths, deep secrets, and plenty of things to see. It's been built for replayability from the ground-up, to the point where even the dialogue in the cutscenes can be randomized between runs. Whether you play through once or a dozen times, your first week on the job is always going to be a memorable one.
This is my first commercial game, and so far the response has been very positive. 100% positive, in fact, as it just hit 10 Positive reviews on Steam. Still working on getting it exposure, though, so give it a try and be sure to tell your friends if you like it! #games source
