Why is my wood bleeding

Got a live edge slab of Canary wood a few months back and haven't used it yet. Was moving some stuff around and noticed it seemed like one of the bug holes had some crust around it. Poured some alcohol on it and that's what came out of the hole.... Do I cut this piece off and chuck it in a fire? 😂
