8 Days Backpacking the Rae Lakes Loop June 2026
8 days in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park. We spent the first 2 days at Sentinel Campground in Kings Canyon to acclimate to higher elevation since we are coming from sea level. 6 days on trail clockwise for a successful completion of the Rae Lakes Loop early June 2-7 2026. South Fork of Kings river crossing was tricky depending on how you crossed it. Summit end Glen Pass on June 5 and needed crampons but pretty easy for the most part.
