people who say “bare minimum” at things their partner does…

people who say “bare minimum” at things their partner does are delusional and ill-mannered

i’ve been in a happy relationship for almost a decade now, we met when we were both 17. and i’m confident that our mutual gratification for anythingggg the other one does, is one of the main reasons we’ve remained solid.

almost every time i come across a relationship-type video on tiktok, the comments are filled with “bare minimum”. and it’ll be a video of a guy getting some flowers for his partner. news flashhhh, that’s NOT the bare minimum. like hello?? they had to trade up hours of their life to work for money (and if you’re among the average, it’s probably not a lot of money), then actually thought “hmm this would make my partner happy”, then gone of their way to get them for you.

and the same applies to men… your partner cooking you dinner is NOT the bare minimum. they’ve bought the ingredients, spent time planning a meal, thinking about what *you* would like, finding recipes, actually cooking it, then probably cleaning up after too.

JUST EXPRESS YOUR GRATITUDE?! it’s so disturbingly ill-mannered to receive an act of kindness or love and immediately think “i deserve more”.

material goods and acts of service are NEVER the bare minimum.

the actual bare minimum in a healthy relationship: love, commitment, loyalty, empathy, respect, care, a safe space, etc…

i don’t care if he bought a cheap bunch of flowers or she cooked a quick and easy dinner… MONEY WAS SPENT. TIME WAS SPENT. EFFORT WAS SPENT. YOU WERE THOUGHT OF IN THEIR MIDST OF THEIR BUSY DAY.

people have no basic manners these days…
