Recommendations for Countries and Cities with Incredible Public Transit, Walkability, Moveability
I recently returned from a two week trip to Japan and I was increadibly impressed by the widespread and affordable access of public transit and the amount of things to see in a walkable range from the use of public transit. The ability to easily move within a county is the main hangup i have about traveling more, as i dont want to be burdened with making reservations for rental cars or other shuttle services. I am interested in planning another trip, but im not sure where to go since the availability of public transit is a large factor i want to consider and im unfamiliar with other countries public transit.
Can people recommend me places that have a similar prevailence of widespread public transport (trains, buses, ferries, walkability, etc.) as japan does. Im interested in a trip to europe (open to other asian countries too), but i dont know where to start.
Bonus points if the public transit options are exceptionally clean and safe, as i expirienced in japan. I'm posting from the USA so im used to my public transit coming with a hint of crime and filth.
