DC to Chicago via North Carolina and Mid West
Hey guys, advice or suggested changes appreciated.
This is a tourist visit with a sprinkle of remote working along the way so there is time in each destination and between days of driving.
Starting in Washington DC and going south to NC (Outer Banks and Wilmington) and then cutting across towards Asheville and Gatlinburg (Great Smokey Mountains), Nashville, and up towards Chicago (including Milwaukee and Madison).
I have visited Charleston before so I am OK with not going further south unless there’s other ideas.
Rough idea is about 24 nights and starting in Spring or Autumn though I would not rule out Summer either.
What do you think, anything worth mentioning along the route or changes to suggest?
