Good morning, my fabulous friends! Happy Tuesday!
A CONVERSATION WE ALL NEED TO HAVE! 😂❤️
👤 Me: You know, I've come to realise something about life.
👤 Friend: Oh Lord! Here comes another motivational speech! 😂
👤 Me: Listen first! Friends, family and relationships are a lot like a bank account.
👤 Friend: Meaning?
👤 Me: You can't keep making withdrawals without ever making a deposit! Love, respect, honesty, support and kindness must go both ways.
👤 Friend: So you're saying relationships need a balance sheet now? 🤣
👤 Me: Absolutely! And some people are seriously overdrawn! No deposits, no interest, but plenty of demands! 😂
👤 Friend: Hahaha! But what about honesty?
👤 Me: Honesty is simple. Tell the truth, even when it's uncomfortable. Don't smile in someone's face while writing a whole different story behind their back. We're adults, not actors in a low-budget drama! 🎭
👤 Friend: And family? Because family can be complicated!
👤 Me: Family is family, but that doesn't mean we should tolerate everything. Love your family, respect them, help when you can, forgive when possible, but remember that boundaries are healthy too.
👤 Friend: What about friends?
👤 Me: Real friends don't just show up when there's a party, a free meal or a favour to collect! 😂 They're there when life gets messy, when you have nothing to offer, and when you need someone to remind you that you're stronger than you think.
👤 Friend: And giving and taking?
👤 Me: That's the beauty of relationships. Sometimes you give more, sometimes you receive more. Life isn't a competition. But if one person is always giving and the other is always taking, that's not friendship... that's a subscription service! And the poor person doesn't even get cancellation rights! 🤣
👤 Friend: So what's the secret to maintaining good relationships?
👤 Me: Simple!
Give without keeping score, but don't allow yourself to be used.
Be honest, even when the truth isn't convenient.
Respect people, even when you disagree.
Celebrate others without feeling threatened by their success.
Check on people, not only when you need something.
Apologise when you're wrong. Your ego doesn't pay your bills!
Never confuse loyalty with accepting disrespect.
And most importantly, never forget those who stood beside you when life wasn't smiling.

👤 Me: No, I've simply grown wiser. I've learned that not everyone who laughs with you is happy for you, not everyone who shares your blood shares your values, and not everyone who calls you a friend knows how to be one.

👤 Me: Not really. It's just common sense wearing reading glasses! 🤓😂
THE BOTTOM LINE: ❤️
Life is too short for fake friendships, unnecessary family drama, one-sided relationships and people who only remember your existence when they need something.
Be genuine. Be kind. Be honest. Give love, receive love, and know when to step back.
Don't be perfect. Nobody is! Just be someone whose words match their actions.
Because at the end of the day, we don't need hundreds of friends, a perfect family or a crowd cheering for us.
We need a few genuine people, honest hearts, mutual respect, a little laughter, and relationships where nobody feels like they're doing all the giving while everyone else is enjoying the benefits! 😂❤️
And remember: Life is give and take, not give, give, give, then take a number and wait for your turn! 🤣
