TIL By the late 1920s Universal Pictures had gained a reputation in Hollywood for nepotism. This was due to the studio head Carl Laemmle Sr’s son Carl Laemmle Jr being made head of film production in 1928 at the age of 21, with 70 other of his relatives on the studio payroll.
