Dear Friends @ Tangled,
I am running a voluntary development organisation called Women's Organisation in Rural Development (WORD) based at India. We are implementing various programs on health, education, environment and development for the women, adolescent and children from the most difficult situation.
I am personally making a find raising for a cause.
This Diwali, I am reaching out personally to ask for your support for 17 young people who are close to achieving an important dream: completing their degrees and becoming the first graduates in their families.
These students were once cared for at WORD’s shelter home for children from families affected by HIV/AIDS. Between 2007 and 2016, with support from Terre des Hommes, Netherlands, the shelter provided care and support to 252 children. Even after the home closed, we continued to support their higher education at institutions across Tamil Nadu.
At a recent meeting, we identified 17 students who need help to complete their final year. They have lost their parents and now depend on relatives whose resources are limited. Despite these challenges, they have worked hard to come this far.
They are just one year away from graduation. Let us help them cross the finish line.
Completing their education can open doors to employment, greater independence, and a more secure future. Your contribution, whatever the amount, can help ease their financial burden and allow them to focus on their studies.
I am personally raising funds to support these students, and I warmly invite you to join me. You can contribute individually, come together with friends, or share this appeal with someone who may wish to help.
This Diwali, let us bring light into their lives—not just for a day, but through an education that can shape their future.
