Converted a g0457 wood cutting band saw into a metal cutting bandsaw by slowing blade speed by 30x with pulleys.
Broke my little metal cutting bandsaw so decided to convert my woodcutting band saw. It achieves a 30x reduction of speed and 30x increase in torque with two 5.5x pulley reductions . Had to replace both stock wheels also to handle the additional torque and for added grip . Still cuts wood just slowly , I can convert it back to wood speed by swapping the order of two of the pulley wheels .
