Contractor wants to be paid and job isn’t even 1/2 done?
Hey, I hired a contractor to remodel my bathroom and he’s been okay so far, what I imagine is middle of the road as far as contractor behavior. He’s been late a few times and one day he did like 1 hour of work and then dipped for 5 hours to go get “materials” well we are supposedly 3 days from completion (i don’t see how he will be done in 3 days) but he called and asked if I’d pay him money ahead of finishing to buy school supplies for his kids. I honestly don’t feel comfortable with that because I already gave him a down payment that was nearly 1/3 of our agreed upon price and now he wants another 1/3 but like all he’s done is the demolition work and hung up the sheet rock. Someone please give me some advice
