Sicilians roadtrip in Texas
Hi everyone! We are three 33-year-old Italian (Sicilian) friends. We'll be vacationing in Texas for only (unfortunately) 8 days and would like to explore the most beautiful parks and western towns we saw in Western movies as kids. We grew up with the myth of cowboys, Texas, and the frontier! We'll be landing in Houston and we thought a good itinerary would be: 1 night in Houston 1 night in Austin or San Antonio 1 night in a town halfway between Big Bend National Park and Houston 1 night in Big Bend National Park 1 night in San Angelo 1 2 nights in Dallas and then back from Houston. I know it's a long trip, but it's our third road trip in the US, so we already know our way around. I'm looking for advice from locals to have authentic experiences and avoid tourist traps.
