finance is behavioral and that’s why you’re still broke
everyone wants to blame income, inflation, student loans, special circumstances, or a lack of financial education. those things absolutely matter, but that isn’t the core. personal finance is behavioral and no, that isn’t a “common sense” opinion.
two people can make the same salary and end up in a completely different financial situation because of their relationship with money. also, making more money doesn’t fix all of your problems. it just gives those behaviors a bigger paycheck. this is coming from someone who believes money buys happiness because it absolutely does for most!
were your parents constantly buying things to cope? did they shame you for spending or make you feel guilty for asking for basic necessities? whether you realize it or not, you probably carried some of those beliefs into adulthood.
until you fix your behaviors, no amount of money will ever feel like enough. #conversation
