I am trying to downsize my pc and I am running into issues with the build. Specifically when I overclock my ram and try to reboot my pc (either in windows or when I save my bios settings) it gets stuck on the ram led indicating that its ram. I have tried a certified kit of ram but that had the same issue. I have also returnedd the motherboard as well and got a brand new one with the same issue. The only thing I could think of now is that my cpu has a bad memory controller, but that makes less sense to me.
I have been using this cpu for 2 years now with another motherboard (Asrock Taichi x670e) and I have been using that system without issues (side note everything from the previous pc except the psu and the motherboard is from the previous system). I have appied the same ram overclock profile and everything but it still has issues.
I did try the new system with a spare 7700x I had on hand and it worked without any issues, even with the expo profile enabled. Does this mean my 7950X3D has a bad memory controller? if so how could I truly tell esp since like I said I had no issues with my ram and cpu when it was oc'd on the other system.
