How effective are window heat blocking tints?

In place where i live it looks like this summer will be unbearable with temperature like 86-98 degrees being pretty normal so i want to prepare somehow. I’m talking about 40% thing or something arround that. How much really it can cool of a room. Would appreciate to hear some feedback
