Paige Turner's Magical Books
First, a confession. This children’s book series I’ve written has been influenced by another children’s book series that was big in the UK when I was a kid – the Mr. Men.
That classic series inspired me to create The Appventurers – a series of illustrated stories for children, each featuring a character based on a type of app. The characters escape from the digital world to experience more of the real world. Exactly what I want my kids to do.
I’ve illustrated the books myself. I’m a better writer than I am an illustrator for sure. But needs must. I can’t afford to hire a pro to illustrate these stories yet, and I point blank refuse to use AI for anything. When I can afford to pay a proper human illustrator, I will.
In the meantime, there are six digital and print books in The Appventurers series to choose from. This week, the story of Paige, the book app who just loves reading, is free to download on the 20^(th) and 21^(st) May.
Rudy, the story of a famous TV chef who wants to spend more time with his son, is free on the 22^(nd) May
