How many issues of these Eisner-nominated series should I read to get a sense of them?
I'm voting in the Eisner Awards and I don't want to be like one of those Academy Award voters who doesn't even watch all the films in a category before casting their ballot. I want to at least sample every comic in each category that I actually plan on voting in.
Right now, I'm planning on just reading the first 2-3 issues of each of the following titles, but I'm aware some series take longer than that to reveal the full scope of what they're doing. So...those who read some of the following series, how many issues should I take in to get an accurate sense of them?
Edited to add: To clarify, I’m not asking for a general rule of thumb to apply across the board but rather specific advice for individual series from those who’ve read them. So if you’re keeping up with, say, FML, I’d be really curious how many issues it took for you to understand what that book is going for and doing.
