The Pulitzer Prize ought to be eliminated.
I think the mainstream news media celebrates itself too much. Every third news story that gets written is congratulating another journalist on a well-written story. There is no such thing as a "scoop" or a "bombshell" report anymore because it makes zero difference. On top of that, now, every other story gets the word, "bombshell" when it is nothing of the sort. Journalism, over the last decade at least, has become an unnecessarily self-congratulatory, self-serving institution, instead of serving the public. Many mainstream news outlets have, for all practical purposes, become state media. Therefore, the Pulitzer Prize ought to be done away with, since it has been rendered meaningless.
