Stop asking where the hidden gems are, just get a rental car and explore some random places you see on Google Maps.

If a ‘hidden gem’ is talked about online, it’s probably not all that hidden. Get an international drivers license before you go on your trip, get a rental car, and explore. It’s fun and is more likely to expose you to places that are ‘off the beaten path’ than anything else. Open Google Maps, see what’s nearby, and do a mini road trip to some random ass place.
