How come HBO did not hop on the MMA wave back in the early 2000s
Growing up, I was looked at HBO as the older cool uncle channel that showed grown-up shows like a less trashy version of spike TV, the UFC had a hard time getting on television because of the blood and the violence and John McCain called it human cock fighting.
How come Dana White didn’t try to make a deal with HBO to show UFC fights or pay-per-view events on TV or even reruns UFC events after 11 PM same thing pride FC, plus HBO was already used to combat sports they had boxing on back in the 80s and 90s but do you think this could’ve happened in reality and does it make sense in hindsight?
